Last year Mountain Brook finished seventh in Class 7A region 3 with a 1-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. Averaging over ten wins a season since 2010, Mountain Brook has gone a combined 47-24. Their 66.0% winning percentage ranks 10th in Class 7A over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Mountain Brook has managed to compile a record of 192-104. Their 65.0% winning percentage ranks 6th in Class 7A and 59th in the AHSAA. The Spartans are led by head coach Chris Yeager who is entering his tenth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 76-41 over the past ten seasons at Mountain Brook. The Spartans open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Gulf Shores on Friday, August 19 at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium. Last year the Gulf Shores Dolphins finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in ninth place in Class 6A region 1. The closed out the regular season with a loss to Williamson by a score of 28-20. Mountain Brook and Gulf Shores have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Spartans have a 2-0-0 record against the Dolphins.
